For everyone interested in church history, and especially for those ignorant of church history, I highly recommend The One Year Book of Christian History by Michael & Sharon Rusten (Tyndale).
The book contains 365 inspiring summaries of major characters and events that shaped history. From Augustine to Zwingli, from the Upper Room to the Haystack Prayer Meeting, it is all there.
My whole family has enjoyed the book. Maybe I should buy five copies.
