Metro Manila Summer Convergence

Wed., April 12, 2006

Sunday, I stood on the six-foot-tall platform in one of the few open spaces left in Fort Bonifacio, looking out at the seemingly endless sea of people who seemed to be engaged in passionate wholehearted worship. As I thought about the Palm Sunday sermon I was about to preach, I couldn't help but pray that this crowd would not be like that original Palm Sunday crowd who cheered for Jesus one day and shouted "Give us Barabas" and "Crucify Him" a few days later. While crowds are fickle and popularity is fleeting, the Word of God is eternal and unchanging. I hope the simple but timeless no-frills message I preached about the cross and blood of Jesus will go deep into the hearts of thousands who heard it and will enable us all to stand for Jesus even when the crowds turn against Him. Here are a few pictures of the worship service and concert.

Special thanks to all our Kids Ministry volunteers who did such a great job Sunday. Also thanks to everyone who freely volunteered your time and talent to make our annual Metro Manila Summer Convergence a success.
